WORCESTER, MA—Vermont Clover FC will put their perfect start to the season on the line this Saturday as they travel to Massachusetts for a matchup against UNations FC on May 9th.

Five games into the campaign, the Clover remain unbeaten with five victories from five and sit joint top of the New England Conference table with 15 points. Their latest outing saw Vermont produce another emphatic attacking display, defeating Boston Street FC II 6-0 at Duffy Field for their second consecutive victory by the same scoreline.

Awaiting them this weekend is a UNations FC side that has shown its ability to compete early in the season. UNations currently sit sixth in the table after winning two of their opening matches, most recently earning a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Dorchester City FC. Playing at home, they will look to provide one of the toughest tests yet for a Clover side that has quickly established itself as one of the league’s most dangerous teams.

Through five matches, Vermont has affirmed itself as the highest-scoring side in the league, combining relentless attacking pressure with clinical finishing in front of goal. Much of that firepower has come from the trio of Oliver Nigro, Milo Schmidt, and Michael O’Connor, who have each played pivotal roles in the Clover’s explosive start to the season. Schmidt enters the contest in particularly strong form following another standout performance against Boston Street, while O’Connor continues to provide a consistent attacking presence in the final third, while dominating the middle of the pitch.

Despite the dominant form, Vermont knows Saturday’s matchup presents a different kind of challenge away from home.
