WORCESTER, MA — Vermont Clover FC continued its perfect start to the UPSL Division 1 season on Saturday night, defeating UNations FC II 6-1 at Morse Field to extend their unbeaten run to six matches.

The victory marked Vermont’s third consecutive match scoring six goals as the Clover once again showcased the attacking quality that has made them one of the most dangerous sides in the Division 1 New England Conference.

Despite the lopsided final scoreline, the match remained tight throughout much of the opening half. Vermont entered the break holding a narrow 1-0 advantage after controlling possession and creating several dangerous opportunities in the attacking third while limiting UNations chances defensively.

The second half, however, saw the Clover erupt offensively.

Vermont quickly found another gear after halftime, stretching the hosts with quick movement and relentless pressure going forward. The Clover consistently forced turnovers in dangerous areas and capitalized on their opportunities as the match opened up. Even after conceding once in the second half, Vermont responded immediately and continued to dictate the pace of play from start to finish.

Facing a UNations side coming off a strong result against Dorchester City FC, Vermont knew the road matchup would present another challenge early in the season. Instead, the Clover once again demonstrated their ability to control matches away from home while maintaining the intensity that has fueled their unbeaten run.

Through six matches, Vermont remains unbeaten and continues to strengthen its position atop the conference standings heading deeper into the spring schedule.

However, up next will be a massive top of the table clash against Boston Emeralds FC, who the Clover share the top spot with.
